Melvin Jack Murdock

American businessman, philanthropist, and radio technician from Portland, Oregon. Co-founded Tektronix in 1946 as an equal partnership with Howard Vollum, Miles Tippery, and Glenn McDowell. Served as vice president, general manager, then chairman from 1960 until his death in 1971. His estate founded the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust (~$80 million).
