Co-Founder and CEO of Covariant (formerly Embodied Intelligence), an AI robotics company founded in 2017 and headquartered in Emeryville, CA. Former UC Berkeley student of Pieter Abbeel and former researcher at OpenAI. Co-developed the Covariant Brain, AI-driven software for robotic warehouse automation, and RFM-1, a robotics foundation model. In August 2024, Chen joined Amazon as part of a $380M licensing and talent agreement with Covariant.
