Rachel Vitali

Rachel Vitali is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Iowa. Her research areas include biomechanics, robotics, data fusion, and machine learning. She is affiliated with the GLEAM program and directs the Human Instrumentation and Robotics (HIR) Lab, which quantifies and understands human movement via wearable technologies for applications in human-robot interaction. Her projects include Stewart Platform digital twins for submersible underwater vehicles and synthetic data generation for deep learning training in automated manufacturing.
