Application requirements for a Permit for Post-Testing Deployment of autonomous vehicles on public roads — the deployment (final) phase of California's staged permit process. The manufacturer's Safety Case must include evidence demonstrating that operation of the automated driving system does not pose an unreasonable risk of accident, death, or injury. Amended effective April 28, 2026 (OAL File 2025-0415-04); previously numbered § 228.06.
