Key facts

Tungkillo hub proposal (company-stated, Oct 2026)

About 1,200 MW at 312 Collins Road, Tungkillo, in three stages: Stage 1 from 2028 and full build by 2031. Two new substations would connect to 275 kV lines crossing the site.

Tungkillo power mix (company-stated)

Contracted wind and solar would supply about 80% of the power, with on-site gas turbines supplying about 20%. No diesel backup for the data centre, apart from small diesel units to start the turbines and at the gas receiving facility.

Tungkillo approval status (reported, Oct 2026)

No development application lodged yet. The company intends to use the Crown development and essential infrastructure provisions, with the Planning Minister deciding. Local residents oppose the project over sound and light pollution.
