In September 2018 ANYbotics ran a one-week pilot of ANYmal with transmission system operator TenneT on an offshore converter platform in the North Sea. ANYmal ran inspections on its own, covering 16 inspection points (gauges, levers, oil and water levels) with visual and thermal checks.
TenneT staff could follow the data from an onshore control centre. IEEE Spectrum said it appeared that some electrical cabinets had to be left open because the robot cannot open them.
