Kroger and Nuro ran Nuro's first autonomous grocery-delivery pilot in Scottsdale, Arizona from August 2018, initially with autonomous Toyota Priuses and then the Nuro R1. The Arizona pilot did not become a permanent commercial deployment and Nuro wound down its own delivery business with the September 2024 pivot to licensing. The pilot did not convert.
