Robotaxi GXR at Abu Dhabi
WeRide's mass-produced purpose-built robotaxi, launched October 2024 on Geely Farizon's SuperVAN platform. Began fully-driverless commercial operations in Beijing (early 2025), then Guangzhou (August 2025), and operates fully-driverless commercial services in Guangzhou, Beijing, and Abu Dhabi, with public passenger services in Dubai and Riyadh. WeRide and Geely Farizon have committed to delivering 2,000 GXRs to support large-scale global commercialization.

Operator: WeRide with Uber and TXAI (asset-light; partners operate the fleet, WeRide provides the AV technology and vehicles). The landmark deployment: in October 2025 WeRide secured the world's FIRST city-level fully-driverless robotaxi commercial permit outside the United States, granted by the UAE federal government (Regulations Lab under the UAE Cabinet Secretariat). Fully-driverless commercial operations (no on-board safety operator) launched with Uber in November 2025, expanding to cover ~70% of Abu Dhabi's core areas (including Al Reem Island, Al Maryah Island). WeRide has partnered with TXAI for public Abu Dhabi robotaxi operations since 2021; the WeRide-Uber fleet (launched Dec 2024) is the largest commercial robotaxi fleet outside China and the US, averaging dozens of daily trips per vehicle and on track for breakeven unit economics.
