YAPE at Milan, Italy
YAPE is a two-wheeled, self-balancing autonomous last-mile delivery robot developed by Italian company Yapemobility, a spin-off of the e-Novia venture studio. The robot carries up to 20 kg of cargo at speeds of up to 20 km/h with 40+ km range per charge, using GPS, depth-sensing lasers, cameras, and sensors for obstacle and hazard avoidance in urban environments. Cargo compartment access is controlled by face recognition.
