Thorvald is a modular, electric farm robot from Saga Robotics (Oslo, Norway, founded 2016), built for open fields, polytunnels, and vineyards. Its best-known application is autonomous UV-C light treatment that disrupts the DNA of powdery mildew. The maker also describes it doing flower and fruit counts, dispensing predatory mites, and cutting runners.

What is verified, and what is not

This is where honesty matters. Saga Robotics describes Thorvald as autonomous and cites a fleet of 150-plus units, but those are manufacturer claims. DEPLOY has no verified real-world deployment of Thorvald on record: zero deployments are confirmed at a named site with a primary source. The registry rests this record on a single manufacturer source. Absence of verified deployments may reflect pre-deployment, research, or manufacturer-internal use, but until an independent, named-site deployment is confirmed, the capability and fleet figures should be read as claims pending verification, not established facts.
