Tesla recalls 2.98 million vehicles in China over emergency door release safety risks, China largest-ever automotive recall
Tesla will recall approximately 2.98 million imported and China-made Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles in China starting September 25, 2026, over concerns that emergency door releases could be difficult to open after a serious crash. The recall is China largest automotive recall to date and was ordered by the State Administration for Market Regulation.
