Waymo robotaxi struck in hit-and-run collision on first day of Charlotte operations

On Waymo's first day of operations in Charlotte, NC, a manually driven Waymo vehicle with a human trainer aboard was struck by another vehicle in a hit-and-run on the 500 block of W. Fourth Street near Truist Field. The other vehicle crossed a double yellow line, cut off the Waymo, then reversed into it before fleeing.
