Who’s involved
Mobileye is an Israeli autonomous-driving and vision-technology company (founded 1999, Jerusalem), majority-owned by Intel and publicly traded on NASDAQ (MBLY). It is the leading supplier of camera-based ADAS through its EyeQ system-on-chip (over 200 million shipped) and builds a tiered driving-automation stack (SuperVision, Chauffeur, and the driverless Mobileye Drive) plus REM crowdsourced HD mapping; Mobileye Drive powers robotaxi and shuttle programs with partners including Volkswagen and Holon. In January 2026 Mobileye agreed to acquire the Israeli humanoid-robot startup [Mentee robotics](/companies/mentee-robotics) for about $900 million (announced at CES, expected to close in Q1 2026), its first entry into humanoid robotics. The automotive-perception-to-humanoid tech-transfer rationale and the 'physical-AI leader' positioning are the company's stated strategy rather than demonstrated outcomes.
FAW Group (China First Automotive Works) is China's oldest automotive manufacturer, founded in 1953. Produces passenger and commercial vehicles through joint ventures with [Volkswagen](/companies/volkswagen-group), Audi, and Toyota. Developing autonomous driving and electric vehicle technology through FAW R&D.
