Thomas Wolf

French researcher and entrepreneur; co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Hugging Face (founded 2016). Holds a Ph.D. in statistical/quantum physics from Sorbonne University / ENSCI Paris, where he worked on superconducting materials for the DGA (French DARPA) and Thales. After his PhD he moved into machine learning and patent law; his weekend port of Google's BERT to PyTorch in 2018 sparked Hugging Face's open-source ML pivot.
