Pilot conversion: pilots that became real
A pilot is easy to announce; converting it to a paid, ongoing deployment is the real test. The Pilot Conversion Rate is concluded pilots that converted, divided by all concluded pilots (including the ones that quietly ended). The maturity metric every buyer and investor wants.
Methodology
- Concluded = pilots no longer running: converted, not converted, or quietly ended.
- Converted = became a paid or commercial deployment.
- Rate = converted / concluded. Quietly-ended pilots count against the rate, because they are the outcome nobody else records.
- A company needs at least two concluded pilots to be ranked.
This index publishes as its inputs cross the density floor. Accuracy is the product, so a thin ranking is held back rather than shown.
