Morrisons trialled Simbe Tally shelf-scanning robots in its Wetherby, Redcar and Stockton stores from spring 2025, the first UK retailer to do so, to check shelf displays and legal compliance. The Grocer reported in July 2026 that Morrisons ultimately went for an alternative approach, installing more than 200,000 shelf-edge cameras from Focal Systems; it did not state that the robot trial formally ended.
