CPSC: Aiper recalls Elite Pro cordless robotic pool vacuum cleaners over battery overheating burn and fire hazards (2023)
On August 24, 2023, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Aiper recalled its Elite Pro (Model GS100) cordless robotic pool vacuum cleaners because, when the charging cord is plugged into the device without the adapter, the battery can overheat and short circuit, posing burn and fire hazards.
CPSC reported about 22,000 units recalled in the U.S., with 17 reports of overheating and 1 minor fingertip burn that required no medical treatment. Remedy: free replacement with the Aiper Seagull Pro model. (CPSC Recall 23784.)
