Multiple Waymo robotaxis stranded with dead batteries during July 4 San Francisco traffic gridlock
At least a dozen Waymo vehicles, many Jaguar I-PACE models, had their batteries drain while stuck in heavy traffic following Fourth of July fireworks in San Francisco. Several vehicles had to be towed, and bystanders reported people yelling at the driverless cars. Waymo said it is evaluating ways to strengthen resilience in major traffic disruptions.
