ADS crash report in Austin, TX involving a JAGUAR I-PACE (NHTSA SGO 30270-14480)
On March [XXX], 2026 at 11:29 AM CT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Austin, Texas was in a collision involving a pickup truck on [XXX] at [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling eastbound in the second from the left lane on [XXX] with its right turn signal activated when it slowed to a stop in-lane, prior to the intersection stop line for a red light at the intersection with [XXX], in preparation to change lanes to the adjacent designated right turn lane. While the Waymo AV was stopped, an SUV initially stopped for the red light in the designated right turn lane proceeded to make a right turn at the red light, and the Waymo AV crossed the solid white lane line and slowed to a stop in the designated right turn lane in front of a stopped pickup truck. As the Waymo AV slowed to a stop, the pickup truck proceeded forward, and the front left side of the pickup truck made contact with the rear right side of the stationary Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available
