ADS crash report in Redwood City, CA involving a JAGUAR I-PACE (NHTSA SGO 30270-16110)
On July [XXX], 2026 at 1:53 AM PDT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Redwood City, California was in a collision involving an SUV on [XXX] near [XXX].
The Waymo AV was parked facing east at the south curb on [XXX]. While the Waymo AV was parked, an SUV initially parked facing east along the south curb on [XXX] behind the Waymo AV proceeded forward, and the front of the SUV made contact with the rear of the stationary Waymo AV. The Waymo AV then proceeded eastbound on [XXX], made a right turn onto southbound [XXX] and came to a stop at the west curb with its hazard lights on, while the SUV followed behind the Waymo AV. While the Waymo AV was stopped, the SUV proceeded forward and the front of the SUV made contact with the rear of the stationary Waymo AV. The SUV then reversed and proceeded forward again, and the front of the SUV made contact with the rear of the stationary Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage.
