Oculus Quest 2 foam insert recalled after 5,716 reports of skin irritation
Facebook Technologies recalled approximately 4 million removable foam facial interfaces for the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset after receiving 5,716 reports of skin irritation including rashes, swelling, burning, itching, hives and bumps. 45 reports required medical attention. The CPSC announced the voluntary recall globally; Facebook temporarily paused Quest 2 sales and began shipping units with a free silicone cover starting August 24, 2021.
