University of Pittsburgh pauses Starship robots after wheelchair user says one blocked her on Forbes Avenue

On 21 October 2019 Pitt doctoral student Emily Ackerman, a wheelchair user, said a Starship delivery robot blocked the only accessible entrance to the sidewalk, leaving her trapped on Forbes Avenue as traffic approached (her account). Outcome: the University of Pittsburgh asked Starship to pause testing to review the technology. Starship reviewed footage and disputed that she was impeded from getting on the sidewalk, but said it had updated its mapping at that intersection.
