Tesla recalls 2.03M vehicles over insufficient Autosteer driver-engagement controls
NHTSA recall 23V-838 (Dec 12 2023): Autosteer (L2) controls insufficient to prevent driver misuse, tied to NHTSA's EA22002 review of ~1,000 Autopilot crashes including ~29 fatalities and first-responder-vehicle strikes. Remedied via OTA 2023.44.30. The Tesla FSD/Autopilot stack underlies the Tesla AV program.
