White Castle deployed Miso Robotics' Flippy automated cooking robot in its Chicago-area stores beginning in 2020, expanding to the Flippy 2 model in November 2021. The system handles frying and grilling tasks including burgers, chicken fingers, and french fries, producing 60 baskets of food per hour. By end of 2022, a third of White Castle locations were expected to be equipped with the device.
