Ansys is a US-based engineering simulation software company providing multiphysics CAE tools used in robotics design, testing, and deployment. Founded in 1970 by John Swanson as Swanson Analysis Systems, the company went public on NASDAQ in 1996 and became a NASDAQ-100 component in 2019. Ansys simulation tools are used by robotics companies including Agile Robots and Halodi Robotics (1X Technologies) for motor design, sensor optimization, and autonomous system development. In July 2025, Ansys was acquired by Synopsys in a stock-and-cash transaction valued at approximately $35 billion, delisting from NASDAQ.
