At least 45 US projects worth nearly $68B were blocked or delayed in Q2 2026, after 75 worth about $130B in Q1: about 120 and $198B in H1.

71% of US adults oppose an AI data center in their area (48% strongly), versus 27% in favor; more than the 53% opposing a local nuclear plant.

65% of registered voters oppose data center construction in their community (43% strongly); 58% expect a mostly negative effect.
