Overview
Prusa Research is a Czech 3D printer manufacturer founded in 2012 by Josef Průša in Prague and built on the open-source RepRap tradition. The company produces the Original Prusa MK4S, XL, MINI+, and CORE One FDM printers alongside the SL1S SLA printer, the PrusaSlicer software, and the Printables.com model library. Bootstrapped and founder-owned with no external funding, Prusa Research was the world's second-largest 3D printer manufacturer in 2020 and operates the Prusa Farm print-farm model for mass-production of its own printer parts. In 2023-2024 the company partially shifted away from open-source hardware in response to Bambu Lab competition and acquired Trilab to enter the industrial 3D printing market.
