Tsinghua University's Hephaestus team deployed Booster T1 humanoid robots to win first place in the AdultSize category at RoboCup 2025, held in Salvador, Brazil, July 17-21, 2025. This was the first time in the 28-year history of RoboCup's Humanoid League AdultSize competition that a Chinese team claimed the top honor.

The Hephaestus team dominated the tournament, recording clean-sheet victories of 16:0, 9:0, and 12:0 over international opponents including the UT Austin Villa team from the United States. In the final, Tsinghua defeated China Agricultural University's Mountain & Sea team (also using Booster T1) 5:3.

Booster T1 is a 118 cm bipedal humanoid robot by Booster Robotics (Beijing), featuring 23 force-controlled joints and 200 TOPS AI processing via an NVIDIA Orin module. The T1 has become the preferred platform for RoboCup AdultSize competition globally, with 50+ research teams adopting it. The RoboCup victory contributed to Booster Robotics' announcement of the K1, a competition-focused lower-cost variant.

RoboCup 2025 drew over 250 teams from 37 countries and up to 150,000 spectators to Salvador.
