MOIA America (a Volkswagen Group subsidiary) and Uber began testing autonomous ID. Buzz vehicles on Los Angeles streets in April 2026, targeting commercial launch on the Uber platform by end of 2026. The initial test fleet of approximately 10 vehicles is staffed with onboard human safety operators supervising validation of the Mobileye Drive autonomy stack.
MOIA America and Uber opened a joint operations facility in Los Angeles ahead of testing and plan to scale the fleet above 100 vehicles before commercial service begins. Fully driverless operations (without safety operators) are expected to follow in 2027. The LA program is a second deployment site for the ID. Buzz AD alongside the Hamburg pilot.
