ADS crash report in Mesa, AZ involving a JAGUAR I-PACE (NHTSA SGO 30270-14644)
On April [XXX], 2026 at 3:26 AM MT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Mesa, Arizona was in a collision involving an SUV on [XXX] near [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling eastbound on [XXX] when it approached the parking lot at [XXX]. As the Waymo AV proceeded straight, approaching the parking lot exit, an SUV exited the parking lot without stopping at the stop sign and entered the Waymo AV's lane of travel. As the SUV began to turn right, the Waymo AV maneuvered to the left to avoid the SUV,, and the front left side of the SUV made contact with the right side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
