An unoccupied Zoox robotaxi drove through heavy smoke from an active fire emergency in Las Vegas that had not yet been cordoned off with traffic cones. Zoox investigated the root cause and developed a software update to enhance detection of and response to heavy smoke near active emergency scenes.
