The company developed a full-stack deep learning platform called Nervana Cloud and was designing a custom ASIC known as the Nervana Engine for accelerated deep learning workloads. Intel acquired Nervana in August 2016 for an estimated USD 408 million and shut down the Nervana product line in January 2020 in favor of Habana Labs
