Key facts

$12.2M seed co-led by Shine Capital and a16z speedrun; robot safety simulation platform (company-stated, Oct 2026)

Company-stated (company-stated; also SafeWorld blog): on Oct 5 2026 Palo Alto-based SafeWorld emerged from stealth with $12.2M in seed funding co-led by Shine Capital and a16z speedrun, with Box Group, Carnegie Mellon University Endowment, Innovation Endeavors, SV Angel and others. Its browser-based platform lets teams build test scenarios from past incidents, safety standards and robot logs, then runs a robot through thousands of variations with realistic, reactive human motion and measures safety performance, and can be rerun after each software update or new environment. Co-founders are Dr. Ding Zhao (director of the Safe AI Lab at Carnegie Mellon University), CEO Kyle Wong (founder of Pixlee, former CEO of StartX) and Simo Rachidi (former Salesforce Einstein engineer). SafeWorld says it is running early pilots with major automotive OEMs, warehouse automation leaders and medical device manufacturers, and quotes Anyware Robotics CEO Thomas Tang on using its tools. Reported (reported): TechCrunch says Gritt Robotics is partnering with SafeWorld and that SafeWorld builds simulated versions of sites in simulators such as Genesis or MuJoCo. Cap: pilot customers unnamed; no revenue disclosed.
