Shadeform

Shadeform is a GPU cloud marketplace, not a neocloud that owns silicon. The San Francisco company, founded in 2023 and backed by Y Combinator's Summer 2023 batch, sits one layer above the operators: it aggregates live availability, pricing, and specs from more than fifteen third-party GPU clouds and lets a developer provision, monitor, and tear down instances across all of them through one API and one bill. In effect it is a Kayak or Expedia for H100/H200/B200 rental capacity, competing with brokerage layers like SFCompute and the marketplace side of Vast.ai rather than with the CoreWeaves and Lambdas whose inventory it resells.

The pitch is a response to GPU scarcity in 2023-2025: rather than open accounts and negotiate quotas at ten neoclouds, a team hits Shadeform's control plane and gets whatever H100 or B200 node has capacity that hour, at that hour's spot price. That positions the company squarely at the long-tail and mid-market end of the stack, serving inference workloads and burst training rather than the multi-thousand-GPU reservations that Anthropic or OpenAI negotiate directly with hyperscalers.

Shadeform has not disclosed a priced venture round beyond its YC participation, has not published a GPU count (it owns none), and has not disclosed revenue or named anchor tenants. Team size was listed at 11 on its YC profile.
