DEEP Robotics deployed the X20 for autonomous power infrastructure inspection at State Grid Corporation of China and China Southern Power Grid substations, beginning with the X20's commercial launch in August 2021. The X20 became China's first IP66 industrial-grade waterproof quadruped robot and achieved the country's first fully autonomous substation inspection by a quadruped.

By end of 2022, DEEP Robotics had X20 units active across 80+ deployments, of which more than 40 were power inspection applications. The robots autonomously patrol high-voltage substations using multi-sensor perception to detect anomalies in harsh and hazardous conditions where human presence is impractical.
