Cruise recalls 80 ADS units (NHTSA 22E-072) over unprotected-left hard-braking software
NHTSA recall campaign 22E-072 (Cruise LLC, received 2022-08-29). Cruise recalled Automated Driving Systems running software version Delta/2022.05.13.00 that, when making an unprotected left turn, could incorrectly predict another vehicle's path. The recall was prompted by a June 3, 2022 driverless collision in San Francisco where a Cruise AV hard-braked during an unprotected left turn and was struck.
Cruise updated the ADS software at no cost; all affected units repaired July 2022. Potential units affected: 80.
