Overview

Genesis Cloud is a Munich-headquartered GPU cloud operator that positions itself as a European sovereign alternative to hyperscalers for AI training and inference. Spun out of the orbit of crypto-mining pioneer Genesis Mining (co-founder Marco Streng remains a shareholder and advisor), the company built its early business on renewable-powered Nordic data-center capacity and rented consumer-grade RTX cards for ML and rendering workloads before pivoting hard into NVIDIA HGX systems (H100, H200, B200) for enterprise generative-AI customers.\n\nUnlike CoreWeave or Nebius, Genesis Cloud never owned campuses at scale.

It operates from Tier 3 colocation footprints across Norway, Finland, France, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, the United States and Canada, marketing 100 percent green energy and low PUE as EU-sovereignty selling points. Published on-demand pricing sits at $1.60 per H100 GPU-hour and $2.80 per H200 or B200 GPU-hour, aggressive against U.S. neocloud reference cards.

In 2025 the company joined the EU AI Champions Initiative alongside Mistral and Aleph Alpha, pitching itself as sovereign infrastructure for European model builders.\n\nThe operator's status is now precarious. By early 2026 its German entity trades as \"Genesis Cloud GmbH i.L.\" (in Liquidation) on every page of its live site, and its most recent blog post is dated July 2025.

Public disclosure of tenant names, GPU inventory counts, capacity in megawatts and funding history is thin: Genesis Cloud has never announced a headline institutional round in the way peers like CoreWeave, Nebius or Nscale have, and its leadership team (CEO Dr. Stefan Schiefer, CFO Christopher Heberlein, CCO Norman Behrend, CTO Dave Hughes) has not published customer or capacity figures.
