Nxera is the regional data center brand Singtel unified in 2024 to house its Singapore data centers and its Southeast Asia AI-ready expansion pipeline. It is the vehicle Singtel uses to court hyperscalers, model labs, and enterprise AI workloads under one operating and go-to-market platform, and the vehicle KKR bought into when it agreed in September 2024 to take roughly a 20 percent stake for about USD 1.1 billion, valuing Nxera near USD 5.5 billion and giving it dry powder for the AI build-out.

The operator is training-and-inference oriented rather than a low-cost long-tail GPU renter. Its flagship is the DC Tuas campus in Singapore, an AI-ready facility Singtel has described as the country's largest, designed for high-density GPU racks and cooled for accelerators rather than legacy enterprise IT. Nxera pairs that Singapore hub with joint ventures across the region: with Gulf Edge and AIS in Thailand for a Bangkok AI data center, and with Telkom Indonesia and Medco Power in the Indonesian archipelago, so it can offer regional customers a single provider across the three most data-sovereignty-sensitive markets in Southeast Asia.

What sets Nxera apart from the neocloud pack is its lineage. It is not a venture-funded GPU broker; it is a telco-owned regional colocation and AI-cloud platform sitting on Singtel's balance sheet, fiber footprint, and government relationships, with Nvidia as an announced compute partner for its Singapore AI cloud and KKR as an infrastructure-fund co-owner. That makes it a hyperscaler-adjacent regional champion rather than a challenger to CoreWeave or Lambda.
