Overview
The Humanoid Research Group of the Intelligent Systems Research Institute at Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) develops the HRP series of humanoid robots in collaboration with companies including Kawada Industries (now Kawada Robotics). Earlier models HRP-2 and HRP-3 demonstrated bipedal walking, lying down and standing up, walking on slippery surfaces and remote-controlled bolt tightening.
HRP-5P, announced in 2018, is a 182 cm, 101 kg prototype for heavy labor that autonomously installed gypsum board at a mock-up housing construction site.

HRP-4C
HRP-4C is a humanoid robot announced by AIST in 2009, with the appearance and shape of a human, standing 158 cm tall and weighing 43 kg including battery, with joints and dimensions set to average values for young Japanese females. It has 3 degrees of freedom in the hip, 3 in the neck and 8 in the face.
