Overview
Beam is a telepresence robotics system originally developed by Suitable Technologies, a spinoff from Willow Garage. Founded by Scott Hassan in 2011, the Beam robot allows users to remotely navigate physical spaces via a wheeled base with a screen display, enabling real-time video communication. The product line includes the Beam, Beam+, Beam Enhanced, and BeamPro 2, deployed in healthcare, education, and enterprise settings. In August 2019, Denmark's Blue Ocean Robotics acquired the Beam business from Suitable Technologies.
