Overview
Consumer robotics company that pioneered LiDAR-based navigation in robot vacuums. Founded in 2005 in Newark, California by three Stanford alumni, Neato introduced its signature D-shaped vacuum robots in 2010 and was an early integrator of Wi-Fi connectivity (2011). Vorwerk Group first invested in 2010, acquired Neato outright in September 2017, and shut the company down in April 2023 after years of restructuring. The Neato D10, D9 and D8 were the final product line, launched at IFA 2020.

D9
The D9 is a robot vacuum made by Neato Robotics. It is a commercial-stage product. No additional specifications or deployment details are available.

D8
The D8 is a robot vacuum made by Neato Robotics. It is a commercial-stage product designed for automated floor cleaning. No additional specifications or deployment details are available.
Current platform
Neato D10
The Neato D10 Intelligent Robot Vacuum was manufactured by Neato Robotics and released in 2021. It uses LaserSmart LiDAR navigation, scanning rooms with a laser rather than a camera, so the robot captures no images or video of the home interior. The D-shaped chassis lets the robot reach corners more effectively than round designs. The D10 has no automatic self-emptying base. Neato Robotics ceased operations in May 2023 after parent company Vorwerk wound down the business; Vorwerk then terminated all Neato cloud services in 2025, disabling app-dependent scheduling and remote-control features for existing D10 units.
