Overview

Consumer robotics company that pioneered LiDAR -based navigation in robot vacuums. Founded in 2005 in Newark, California by three Stanford alumni, Neato introduced its signature D-shaped vacuum robots in 2010 and was an early integrator of Wi-Fi connectivity (2011). Vorwerk Group first invested in 2010, acquired Neato outright in September 2017, and shut the company down in April 2023 after years of restructuring. The Neato D10, D9 and D8 were the final product line, launched at IFA 2020.
